According to a BBC news article, local authorities have been failing to carry out fire risk assessments on their tower blocks, despite being required to do so.

Umm - amazing story in this day and age.
How on earth do these people in charge of the councils involved sleep at night?

I saw something on the southwest news about the hotel in Newquay that burnt down last year killing 3 people.

It seems that the fire brigade used to carry out these inspections, but now for some reason do not.

I wonder why the undoubted experts in fire protection, the fire brigade, no longer carry out fire protection inspections?

cheers
