I am currently studying for a master degree in international project management. I am in collaboration with a PhD student and we are looking at how the use of cloud computing can benefit small/medium construction firms. We are currently approaching Construction Small & Medium Enterprises (SME) in an attempt to obtain expert opinion suitable of integrating into an ongoing qualitative research project here at Glasgow Caledonian University. http://ITSURVEY.speedsurvey.comTo give you some more details about the project - We are looking at the potential barriers that may prevent construction SME’s from implementing effective IT solutions and the possibility of making use of emerging technologies that could overcome these barriers. The questions are split into three sections:
1. Level of IT usage - establishing how IT is currently utilised within the company 2. Barriers of IT implementation - identifying the barriers that the company may or may not be experiencing 3. Emerging Computing Models - possible drivers for a change in IT operations
The drivers behind the research are entirely academic and information gathered will be in direct ethical compliance, used solely to fulfil the requirements of the research project.
